Synopsis:
Faced with a constant wave of new challenges and increasing complexity, today’s leaders need to make difficult decisions. Effective leaders are not paralyzed by these often sticky, high-consequence forks in the road. They look to many sources for best practices, behaviors to model, and inspiration. By recounting the leadership lessons and heroic adventures of Ernest Shackleton, the enduring spirit of Nelson Mandela, and the steely wisdom of Golda Meir, Decision Points engages leaders to find ways to inspire greater shared vision, relentless innovation and to move through difficult decisions with confidence.
Decision Points traces the first-hand combat medical experience of Navy Captain Michael Patterson, MD., a battalion surgeon assigned to the 3rd Recon Marines in the insurgency hotbed of Fallujah, Iraq. In this account, an ordinary civilian is thrust into an extraordinary leadership position. Through storytelling, photographs and Patterson’s live narrative, Decision Points weaves inspirational lessons and leadership examples from Iraq with the parallel challenges and constantly shifting demands faced by today’s business leaders.
Using carefully tailored questions derived from your organization’s leadership competencies, Decision Points guides participants through a provocative self reflection process and asks the questions:
