Sharon L. Koenig
Professional Focus: Individual and team performance through action-learning and interactive learning methodologies; Organizational process improvement
Sharon is a Senior Trainer with Next Level Performance Group, an organizational development consulting and training firm based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sharon’s diverse experiences from working in the political arena, non-profit and for-profit organizations strengthen her ability to connect with people from similarly diverse backgrounds. Sharon regularly uses high-energy activities to open dialogue within a group.
Sharon launched her career in Washington, DC as a congressional aid to then-Representative from Wyoming Dick Cheney. She refuses to take credit for his rise in the political community. From 1990-1993, she supported the U.S. Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs as a trainer in the Information Technology group.
Prior to joining Next Level Performance in 2002, Sharon worked as a Senior Trainer with INVESCO Mutual Funds in Denver in the Human Resources Training and Development Group. For seven years she designed and facilitated various programs including Customer Service, Conflict Management, Mutual Funds Essentials, Retirement Planning, and Sales Training. She is proud of initiating and implementing a computer-based training platform which is still used in the organization.
At Next Level, Sharon has facilitated performance development training in Spanish for our Latin American clients, DHL Worldwide and FMC Agricultural Products Group. She regularly contributes to the District Manager leadership development programs at Novo Nordisk by facilitating two of our most requested business simulations. Sharon practices excellent customer service as effectively as she trains the subject.
Sharon graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. She studied Latin American politics in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is proficient in Spanish. Sharon attended UW on an athletic scholarship and was named an Academic All-American Track and Field Athlete.
Sharon enjoys playing the piano as well as playing in the great outdoors with her husband and young son. International travel is her passion and she once bicycled—self supported—through Central America. Just once. If you have the opportunity, be sure to ask her about a tradition she has when travelling internationally.
